This character is proving to be quite hard to pin down, I have written out a back story for her and in my head I have a pretty good idea on what she should look like but as we all know getting that from grey matter canvas can be quite hard. So to combat this I did a series of very quick, low detail thumbnails. The biggest hurdle I faced was how to dress her, as she needs to be based in reality and in no way be over the top the brief for her has ended up being restrictive but looking at it from another perspective that can be useful for speeding up the process.

So to loosen up the brain and to get some direction for her I did this colour thumbnail sheet, yes they are low detail and the faces are terrible at the point in time but to focus on these areas would be missing the point. I wanted to give her a outfit that suite her as a person and suits her life style, one I started to do this the one I wanted surprisingly quickly came to the surface. All I need to do now is look at her face and hair style, as a human character based in such a contemporary setting it is her hair that will set up not just the decade but all how she reads as a silhouette.
