Some pen and paper thumbnails

This is a sheet of relevant thumbnails and character creation from my sketch book, this is for one of the monsters from within the game (I will say who he is once I have finished a fully finished painted concept and that is a few weeks off!!), the sheet shows why I use thumbnails to work right into my idea and helps me to experiment.





The fine line pen on paper is my favorite medium to use for this process, as a medium it is far less forgiving than pencil for designing monsters and allows things to pop out from the page that I had never seen before. I don't thumbnail everything this way but it is definitely my favorite way to explore my creative side :)
